Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan: Publikasi Ilmiah Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya (JKK) was established in 2014. Since the first issue in 2014, it has been published three times yearly, consistently and continuously, covering a wide range of medical subjects and topics from every medical specialist aspect and published only in printed journals with registered number p-ISSN 2406-7431.

In 2017, JKK started to publish in an online journal system on the website Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan : Publikasi Ilmiah Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya (unsri.ac.id), which reflected the widening of its coverage beyond Universitas Sriwijaya. JKK is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, and scientific journal that publishes original research articles relevant to national health issues, including the areas of Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, and Public Health Science.

The first accreditation of JKK was held on 27 August 2019 and reached SINTA 4. Starting from Volume 11 No 1 January 2024 Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan : Publikasi Ilmiah Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya (JKK) has migrated to the new website https://jkk-fk.ejournal.unsri.ac.id/index.php/jkk/index

JKK has been nationally re-accredited Sinta 4 by the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia based on SK No. 164/E/KPT/2021 (27 December 2021)

JKK has been collaborating with ARIKESI (Asosiasi Riset Ilmu Kesehatan Indonesia) since 2024, intending to help increase the visibility of the results of scientific studies and research findings that academic circles and researchers can access. JKK has been published in English since April 2024 to broaden its reach to all countries globally and to collaborate with editors and reviewers from other countries.
